Programme and Project Review
Lessons Learned
A key component of good project management is the ability to learn from the experience throughout the project, as well as at its conclusion. Often, the lessons learned from a project are rarely retained or remembered. Without a concerted effort to reflect on specific project lessons and a appropriate process to retain them across the organisation, lessons are lost, mistakes are repeated and opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness are missed.
There are many reasons why this happens, perhaps the teams are too busy or more often there is a fear of reprisal if the ashes of a less than spectacular project are raked over.
However, it is only by reflecting on the outcomes of a project that the good and the bad parts can be identified. Once they are known, you can repeat the good elements and prevent the less than good parts from reoccurring.
CJB Corporate Coaching will work with you, your project managers and your project team to:

- Review the project structure and approach
- Review the project objectives
- Review the project outcomes
- Determine if the projected benefits have been realised
- Establish the lessons to be learned
- Feed back, in an appropriate manner, so that the lessons can be actioned
- Assist to establish appropriate PMO, PPM structures and processes
- Where necessary recommend appropriate remedial action to fully realise the projected benefits
In a supportive and non-threatening manner.
This approach can either be used at the end of a project, at key milestones or when the project is suspected of starting to drift off course.
